He has grown into a very beautiful huskey, if we do say so ourselves lol..He still loves to run and play (now with his new sister Nikki a black lab). He is very loving and so smart..We get many compliments on him and we are sure to let people know that he came from Kortar Kennels and that they should check out your site. Take care and happy training :)

Comments: Hi I've been browsing your site and I have a few questions: when are there going to be new puppies? Can Siberian huskies be left outside overnight? And can I visit your kennel just to check it out? I hope to be a proud owner of one of your dogs someday!

Comments: Hi, I just found out about your kennels and that you have Shiba Inus. I didn't think there were any in this area. I don't know if you've heard of the SF Shiba puppy cam on UStream, that's where I heard about you. I am a card carrying Shibaholic for the last 3 years and would very much like to see a Shiba in person. Everyone who has met one says it is an amazing experience. I would really like to come and visit your place sometime and meet a Shiba, hope that's allowed.

Comments: Hi, for starters, i am 13 years old. It's always been a goal of mine to have a dog and i think a siberian would be good for our family. We would probably groom the dog once a day and give it a good amount of excersise because we go jogging and biking alot. I dont think we'd be entering the dog in competitions or go sledding... The dog would probably be outside most of the day but we'd include him in our activities. I would be interested in a male pup... And i am very sorry but i cant give you any more information such as my email tel. # etc

Thank you for your inquiry concerning Siberian Husky puppies. This initial reply to your inquiry is somewhat formatted and we apologize for that. However, we find that it helps us to ensure that we can offer the best possible match for each of our "kids."
We would like to know something about you and your family, including life style and activities.
Name:
Address: (please include country, if other than Canada or USA):
Is this residence in the city or country?
Telephone number, including area code:
Does your family include children and if so, what ages?
Why do you want this breed?
Have you ever owned or do you currently own a Siberian Husky or any other type of dog? Do you have other pets?
Do you have enough time and energy for this dog?
Do you have a preferred timeframe in mind for acquiring a Siberian Husky?
Do you have a fenced in yard or kennel enclosure? If not, do you have the time and capacity to walk the dog a mile or more every day?
Will the dog be an inside or outside dog?
Do you plan on annual veterinary visits?
Do you have a preference for a male or female or are you flexible on this?
Are you seeking a family pet or would you be interested in showing, doing obedience, sledding, skijoring, agility, etc.?
What would your initial care plan be with a new puppy? Would your puppy be left alone for extended periods? Will you be taking puppy classes?
How did you learn about Kortar Kennels?
Also, for your information, we recommend that people contemplating acquiring a Siberian Husky invest in a copy of the book "Siberian Huskies for Dummies." It's a well written very breed-specific book that is a great aid to helping, even experienced owners, in raising Sibes.
Now, a little bit about us and our dogs:
Kortar Kennels Perm Reg is located just outside Kemptville Ontario near Ottawa. Carol Broadhurst, my wife, has been breeding Siberian Huskies for over 40 years and Shiba Inu for 15 years. She is internationally recognized for producing superior dogs with outstanding temperament and excellent sound structure. She is a past president of the Ottawa Kennel Club and Guelph Kennel Club, served as co-chair of the Canadian Save the Children Dog Show Committee, current Shiba Inu Canada director and is a life member of the Canadian Kennel Club. For the past several years, we have been very proud of her winning awards as both Canada's top Siberian Husky and Shiba Inu breeder.
Our Siberian Huskies are found in many happy homes throughout Canada, the USA and Europe. In addition to conformation, obedience and dog sledding, several of our dogs are working very successfully in homes as special needs dogs for sight and hearing impaired adults as well as handicapped children. We also do pet therapy at a nearby hospital and senior citizens home. One of our dogs is a guide dog and was trained at the Canadian Guide Dogs Training School here in Ottawa as well as at a special needs training school in Oakville. But most of our dogs are in homes just to be loved and enjoyed!
A few years ago, you may recall having seen the Disney movie, "Snow Dogs." Two of our dogs were featured in the movie, playing the role of "Duchess." Our girl "Gloria," is the dog who pulled on a blue T-shirt in the cabin and did the "high -5" at the wedding scene. Her brother, "Bam Bam", did all of the sledding scenes for her. Both dogs were champions and after the movie was made, they returned to live with us. We made numerous appearances with them at schools, winter carnivals, hockey games and even Tim Hortons donut shops! The appearances were been primarily used as a means of educating people about the Siberian Husky breed, its history and characteristics and to educate children as to how to behave around dogs.
Our puppies are house-raised underfoot so that they receive lots of gentle, loving handling from our family as well as frequent visitors. As a consequence, they look forward to being with people and are accustomed to household sounds and smells. And, most importantly, they love children!
All adult dogs are hip and eye certified "clear" before being bred and all puppies are guaranteed for hips and eyes. Puppies are delivered with all shots appropriate for their age, wormed and tattooed. A puppy package accompanies each puppy and includes a copy of the health record, pedigree, copies of the parents' hip and eye certifications, lead, collar, sample of food that they are currently on, list of toxic houseplants, recommended vaccination protocol and a few other items that help to get you started off with your new puppy.
Puppies start at $950.00 and that includes the CKC registration. Puppies are subject to prior sale. A non-refundable $200.00 deposit will reserve a puppy.
On occasion, we also have young adult dogs available to those who prefer not to go through all of the puppy training. These dogs are often champions and we are looking for a good retirement home for them. They are frequently offered at very attractive prices.
We currently have a gey male puppy available. Please contact us if you would like more information or to visit the kennel.
Please note that we do not normally announce litters. Once puppies are on the ground, we respond to inquiries as they are received. That said, we do welcome periodic inquiries seeking updates and will respond to those. Moreover, we encourage visits to our kennel to meet you and your family as well as affording you an opportunity to meet our dogs!
We look forward to hearing from you and hope that perhaps we may have a Siberian Husky puppy that would be ideal for you.

Comments: I used to volunteer at Hidden Treasures Kennels and i LOVED working with the dogs from the Kortar lines. (I still have my HT dog from HT Denali. She 12 now but we still adore her.) They are some of the most spectacular Siberians. I recently moved to the east coast of the US and always hope to see dogs as good as Kortars at local shows. We hope one day to own another pup from your line.
